About
Ride The Beav is a publication created to showcase the Eagle County Snowboard & Freeski Community, to the community. It is written by, focused on, and (hopefully) read by our peers. I’ve always felt a strange comfort from the people here—that there’s a common mentality that deserves some attention. Maybe it’s flat out knowing most of us WON’T be pro riders that lets us smile a bit more, grit our teeth a bit less, and just ride for the love of it. I don’t know. In any case the majority of us are transplant winter enthusiasts, who found this area to be our home as a means to that end. Everything else is secondary. This is our attempt to give back, and if we blow your mind from time to time with our content, I’m happy with that. The Volunteers
Rich Staats
Rich has pretended to be a Web Designer in this valley for the past 5 years. Ride The Beav is a side project that takes up more time than paid work. On days when Doug can’t make it out, you might find Rich pretending to take photos too, although his real passion is annoying a company until they give him a proform.

Doug Bruder
Doug hardly needs an introduction. You’ve seen him scale trees, hike with 50 lbs. of equipment on his back and out right sacrifice his body to get that shot. Doug studied Photography at West Virginia University and has had a camera at his side ever since.

Tyler Malay
Tyler’s background in video is impressive, having worked for Fuel TV, Windell’s Snowboard Camp, Autumn Line Productions, and Think Thank. He prefers to “technine” out of spins, minus the “ughhh son.”

Alexandra Erickson
Alex has a laundry list of real world experience including snowboard design and illustration and has worked with companies like Forecast Snowboards, Hidden Apparel, Bonfire, Capix CO, ROME, Windells Snowboard Camp and more. She is addicted to sugar.

Seth Peterson
Seth is the newest addition to the {RTB} team and will be keeping the site fresh with content as well as fine tuning his photography skills on the mountain with Doug. And let’s not forget, he is our token born and bred local.
